Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a comprehensive combat sport that integrates techniques from multiple martial arts disciplines, such as boxing, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai, kickboxing, karate, and judo. Competitors engage in bouts within an octagonal or circular cage, similar to the UFC’s Octagon, adhering to a standardized set of rules that permit both striking and grappling, whether in a standing position or on the ground.
MMA training is tough and includes strength training, conditioning, striking, grappling, and recovery methods. Fighters usually practice different skills every day, working on cardio, techniques, sparring, and managing their weight. There are several big promotions in the sport, with the UFC being the top one, followed by Bellator, ONE Championship, and the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
